| | | SlideMaster Glossary |
| 2 Rail | - | Refers to a slider that uses one fixed rail and one moving rail. This arrangement provides 70% extension from the retracted position. |
| 3 Rail | - | Refers to a slider that uses one fixed rail and two moving rails. This arrangement provides nominally 100% extension from the retracted position. (actual movement is approximately 98%) |
| % extension | - | The amount of telescoping movement of the load carrying platform relative to the length of the closed slider. |
| Aluminum | - | Extruded aluminum is used in several SlideMaster units. Aluminum rails can provide high stiffness while at the same time providing slide unit weights approximately 40% less than steel; and improved corrosion resistance. |
| Bearing | - | The steel slide units roll in and out on sealed ball bearing assemblies. These bearings are sealed for the life of the unit and do not need periodic greasing. Aluminum units may use a special nylon based bearing material called nylatrol. |
| Deck | - | The flat surface on top of the Slidemaster rail system that supports the cargo. Also referred to as a tray. |
| Dual Direction | - | Refers to a slider that moves in two directions. Such a slider placed cross wise in a vehicle would permit access from either side of the vehicle. Mostly commonly a 2 rail configuration, but can be a 3 rail. |
| Finish Coating | - | The slide units are painted for decorative and protective purposes. Applications requiring enhanced corrosion resistance should utilize the optional powder coat (APRI) |
| Heavy Duty | - | A SlideMaster unit designed to carry heavier loads by use of increased rail and bearing sizes. |
| Low Profile | - | A SlideMaster unit designed to provide moderate load carrying capacity slide unit size and weight. |
| Mid Profile | - | A SlideMaster unit designed to provide performance intermediate between the low profile and standard models. |
| Moving Wall | - | A SlideMaster unit designed to support a vertical load carrying platform onto which items, such as tools, are hung and easily accessible from narrow vertical storage spaces when the slider is extended. |
| Options | - | SlideMaster prices reflect the basic designs. Various applications may want to utilize optional features such as the pull-push latch, powder paint coating, etc. |
| Standard Profile | - | The initial size slide unit upon which the company was formed. It is sized to provide high load capacity with a large length range. |
| Steps | - | A step that can be slid away when not in use. The step utilizes either a 2 rail or 3 rail slide unit depending on the support structure available. |
| Tip Down | - | A special SlideMaster configuration in which the load platform tips down at a 30 degree angle as it extends out of the compartment to improve accessibility to higher up compartments. |
| Tool Board | - | A name often given to a moving wall SlideMaster when a variety of tools are hung on the wall. Any application that is tall and vertical can benefit from a moving wall unit. |
| Tray | - | The flat surface on top of the SlideMaster rail system that supports the cargo. Also referred to as a deck.
